Graduate student Erin Wachter was awarded an American Chemical Society Student Travel Award to present her research in two talks at the 251st ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA. The award was provided by the Division of Inorganic ��ɫ��Ƶ.  The titles of Erin's presentations include "Using a Ru(II) building block and a rapid screening approach to identify nucleic acid selective “light switch” compounds" and "Structural features that influence photochemical reactivity and phototherapeutic activity of Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes".

Corrine "Nina" Elliott, an undergraduate student majoring in chemistry and mathematics at UK, is the receipient of a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from the American Chemical Soceity's Division of Organic ��ɫ��Ƶ.  This $5,000 fellowship will allow Corrine to continue research in the ��ɫ��Ƶ Department at the ��ɫ��Ƶ for the Summer of 2016.

Faculty members in the Department of ��ɫ��Ƶ characterize Alexis Eugene as an outstanding student, critical thinker and driven researcher. Her accomplishments were recently recognized at the national level as she received the Graduate Student Award from the Environmental ��ɫ��Ƶ Division of the American Chemical Society.

A paper by John Anthony, professor in the ��ɫ��Ƶ Department of ��ɫ��Ƶ and faculty member of the Center for Applied Energy Research, has been recognized as the American Chemical Society's Editors' Choice.

Burt Davis, longtime associate director for the ��ɫ��Ƶ Center for Applied Energy Research's Clean Fuels and Chemicals Group, has been selected as the 2013 American Chemical Society's Energy & Fuels Division Distinguished Researcher Award in Petroleum ��ɫ��Ƶ.

UK chemistry professor Susan Odom's student, Corrine “Nina” Elliott, attended the 244th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Philadelphia as an 18-year-old high school student planning to attend UK in the fall.
