About Me
I am a Professor in the Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methodology (QQRM) program in the School of 九色视频at Indiana University Bloomington. I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Measurement, Statistics, and Methodological Studies from Arizona State University. My research focuses on educational and psychological measurement, including multidimensional item response theory, multistage testing, dimensionality assessment, differential item functioning and measurement invariance, and psychometric modeling approaches such as Bayesian and cognitive diagnostic models. I also collaborate extensively on methodological and substantive projects across education, public health, and the social sciences, reflecting a broad interest in quantitative approaches to understanding complex learning and developmental phenomena.
In the QQRM program, I teach graduate courses in Educational Assessment and Psychological Measurement, Psychometric Theory, Advanced Item Response Theory, Intermediate Statistics Applied to Education, and Strategies for Educational Inquiry. My teaching emphasizes the integration of theory, methodological rigor, and practical application, with attention to how measurement decisions shape the evidence we generate in both research and applied contexts. I have mentored graduate students across a wide range of measurement topics—including cognitive diagnostic modeling, longitudinal measurement invariance, dimensionality assessment, and item response theory—with many culminating in dissertations, peer-reviewed publications, and national conference presentations.
